Tavares Seaplane Base will host the 2017 Splash- In on April 1-2, 2017. Tavares is a great location for Seabirds on their way to SUN 'n FUN April 4-9, 2017. Tavares, known as Americas First Seaplane City has all the facilities for seaplane activities, as well as walk-to hotels and restaurants. Tavares is experienced in conducting seaplane splash-in events and is excited to host the participation of SUN 'n FUN Seabirds.
SUN 'n FUN International Fly-In and Expo
Mark your calendars for aviation’s season opener during the 43rd Annual SUN ‘n FUN International Fly- In & Expo presented by VISIT FLORIDA from April 4-9, 2017 in beautiful Lakeland, FL. The Fly-In is SUN ‘n FUN’s largest fundraiser for the Aerospace Center for Excellence (ACE), a 25-acre, 11 building campus dedicated to aerospace and STEM education. Approximately 200,000 guests, exhibitors, volunteers, sponsors and performers are expected to attend. Proceeds from the event support numerous community activities in addition to ACE.
SUN ‘n FUN would love to welcome our French Allies on Tuesday April 4th, as the French National Team, Patrouille de France, performs during the airshow. The team is thanking the United States for our participation during the World War. The day will also honor America’s participation as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of America entering the air war in Europe, and the 70th Anniversary of the Air Force. We are proud to welcome the world-renowned Blue Angels back to the SUN ‘n FUN stage. The team will perform Friday- Sunday. Art Nalls will bring the only civilian Harrier on the airshow circuit in for the weekend, April 7-9.

The Greater Bartow Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Polk State College, announces the launch of the 2017 Greater Bartow Chamber Professional Development Academy (PDA). This program provides skills for business, organization, and personal growth and improvement through a variety of educational and training opportunities. Receive your PDA certificate by attending a minimum of four of the seven classes. Cost for the academy classes are covered in your Chamber membership investment. If you are an employee of a Chamber member business, you are entitled to attend any of the classes at no cost. If you are not employed by a Chamber member business, the classes are $29 per class.

J. Lenora BreslerJ. Lenora Bresler is an attorney, senior certified human resource professional, and a certified advanced speaker. She has her own leadership and motivation firm in Lakeland and is a keynote speaker, trainer, coach, and author. Her newest book, Instant Insight: 15 Questions to Great Relationships, is due out next month. She is the co-author of Mission Possible and Best of the Best, and is the editor of the motivation book Jump Starts, by Timothy Richardson. Ms. Bresler has taught the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Learning System for eight years at Valencia College and has repeatedly won awards for 100% class pass rates. Ms. Bresler has also taught for the Polk State Corporate College since 2001. With a background in acting, singing, and piano, she brings a flavor of humor and entertainment to all her trainings.

Is your organization creating a VIP media experience? Guest speaker Liz Anderson, senior public relations manager of Firehouse of America, LLC, will share best practices on elevating the traditional blogger experience at the next meeting of Dick Pope/Polk County chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association on April 19, 2017. Anderson lead the Firehouse Subs PR team to its best PR year to date in 2016, earning 31 national media stories, an advertising equivalency of $26.5 million, and more than 2.7 billion media impressions - surpassing 2015 impressions by 63 percent.
The chapter will also celebrate the recipients of the Image Awards, Public Service Award and Joe Curley Rising Leader Award at the April meeting.

Welcome to SPCA Florida’s Silver Anniversary Walk for Animals, Presented by the Petco Foundation! That’s right SPCA Florida’s 25th Annual Walk for Animals is coming and in a big way. New for this year, the Walk for Animals has an Inaugural Presenting Sponsor in the Petco Foundation and we are so appreciative of their support. In addition, we are extremely grateful of our past support and we look forward to your involvement in our silver anniversary as a Fundraising Team Captain or as a pet loving individual!
