The mere act of coming together to discuss Alzheimer’s and sharing experiences validates and confirms each member’s ability to cope with his or her situation and that of his or her loved one. The group is led by Mary Shapiro, MSG, who has spent many years working with the families of people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and has provided support and understanding to many people throughout her career. The Alzheimer’s support group meets on the third Thursday of every month at 11:30 AM in the Homestead's library and there is no cost to attend.
