BC's Got Talent

BC's Got Talent is our town's annual opportunity to be entertained by our wealth of local talent, young and old. Bring a blanket and pic-nic and come set up under the stars at the Library's beautiful outdoor amphitheatre and enjoy a great free variety show with cash prizes for winners in three age groups. Starts 7pm and lasts about an hour and 45 minutes.

Loaves & Lobsters Fundraising Dinner

Join the Boulder City United Methodist Church for their 3rd Annual Loaves & Lobster dinner.  This fundraising dinner is to support the ministries of the BCUMC.  Live Maine lobster is flown in fresh and coupled with BBQ corn on the cob, coleslaw, rolls and dessert.  

Enjoy the Silent Auction and get some great deals on a variety of items and services.  Cash Bar.

Historic Preservation Day

You're invited on Tours for Boulder City's Historic Preservation Day! Celebrating the City's History with the Los Angeles Dept. of Water & Power. Did you know that the LADWP owns the historic Six Companies Lodge overlooking Lake Mead? This beautiful building isn't open to the public, but now is your chance to get a tour! Come tour and learn about the original Los Angeles Dept. of Water & Power building downtown with their staff and the Boulder City Historic Preservation Committee, and than catch a ride to tour the lodge. There will be speakers at lunch, information about the new nomination of the Bullock Field Historic District, a survey to seek community input on historic preservation, and more. 

9:00 am registration / tours start at 10:00 am

We meet for lunch in the Banquet Room at the Railroad Pass Hotel and Casino.

May's program will include CD3 candidate Danny Tarkanian,  Lt. Governor candidate Brent Jones, and two candidates for Nevada Attorney General, Wes Duncan and Craig Mueller.

Norwegian Constitution Day Celebration

Sponsored by The Sons of Norway - Desert Troll Lodge

The free event will include bounce house, a Viking battle, lawn games, raffle, a full-size Viking ship, flag parade with classic cars and costumed marchers, and Scandinavian music played by DJ Marcel Fastow.

Guest of Honor will be Nevada's Secretary of State, Barbara Cegavske.

Dinner menu will be smoked sausage wrapped in lefse, a potato bread, baked beans and coleslaw, dessert waffles and krumkakes along with lingonberry juice and ice cream.  Beer will be available for purchase.  Sampling of fishes, cheeses, crisp bread and fresh rosettes.  Donations for the food will be accepted.

Storytime Train

Nevada Southern Railroad

 

Bring the kids (regardless of age) and have a fun time riding the train, coloring, doing a craft, and listening to a children's story.  Purchase regular tickets to ride the train and join our Storytime Crew in the dining car of the train, on the regularly scheduled train runs (10AM, 11:30AM, 1PM, or 2:30PM).  We furnish the coloring pages and markers, craft materials, and the story.  Sit with your kids, have fun, take photos or videos, and watch the beautiful desert scenery from the comfort of our train.

Story: Princess Pamina longs to mingle among her mothers subjects. Her mother The Queen of the Night forbids her to leave the castle for her own safety. Hearing her pleads of sadness a wise stranger helps to free her. Her mother enlists the help of three spirits to find a noble prince smart enough to return her daughter to safety. The prince with the help of a new friend he meets in the woods, set out to find the princess. They do in fact find the man who took Princess Pamina, but he is the Noble Lord Sarastro who can give the three youths what they seek if they are able to pass a test. The three proceed with their trials and soon we will see if they are awarded with what they truly desire.
