Feathered Friends Day

At 10:30 am, DAWCWR will kick off our event with a presentation of exotic birds by Jayme and Sarah. They will showcase a few feathered friends and we will learn all about these beautiful, exotic birds including why they can be a big challenge for the average pet owner. There will even be a song and dance at the end of the program!

At 11:30 am, KJ's New North will serve a light lunch of sandwiches and assorted nibbles and drinks.

We'll conclude this event with a showing of Free Birds, a Thanksgiving-themed animated film!

Please join us for an afternoon of learning and fun to kick off the beginning of Thanksgiving break!

Soup and Stories

Join us for an afternoon of delicious soup (provided by our Friends of the Library) and a reading from local author, Mark Peacock.

Mark's first piece was published in 1971 and has since published four collections of short stories: Four Break Time Stories, More Break Time Stories, Yet More Break Time Stories, and Four More Break Time Stories.

The main theme of Mark's short story collections are stories that one can read in a short amount of time. Mark explains, "Here are stories you can read completely and enjoy on your break and then get back to work on time!"

While Mark's aim is to entertain in a short amount of time, we are thrilled to hear some of them and relax with a hot bowl of soup!
