| 04/21/12 | 9th Annual Shoreline Walkathon The 9th annual Shoreline Walkathon will be held on April 21st in its new location (the Branford Green) and with new partners the Branford Early Childhood Collaborative. All proceeds benefit the Community Dining Room of Branford. Participants will meet on the Branford Green at 9am for the opening ceremony to honor our Grand Marshall in Memoriam Paul Sturgess of VF McNeil Insurance and to hear the proclamation designating April 21st as “Children Feeding Children Day” in Branford. The walk will kick-off the nationally recognized “Week of the Young Child” and is co-presented by the Branford Early Childhood Collaborative. Participants will walk, run, or stroll a scenic 3 mile round-trip course from the Branford Green to Foote Park, enjoying views of the Branford river (see map). The walk will be on sidewalks the entire way so children and families are encouraged to attend! Walkers are invited to return to the Green for refreshments, activities, magic, and glitter tattoos!
