MEDIA AVAILABILITY WITH CONGRESSMAN JACK KINGSTON Congressman Kingston will address the monthly meeting of the Camden County Republican Women, providing an update on the 2012 elections as well as pending legislation and issues impacting jobs and the economy. Congressman Kingston will have just returned from the Republican National Convention in Florida where he is currently participating in the nomination of Governor Mitt Romney to be the Republican Presidential Nominee. The meeting will take place at the Camden County Republican Party Headquarters on Highway 40 in Kingsland.

COME JOIN US FOR FASHION'S NIGHT OUT, AS A PART OF A WORLDWIDE FASHION CELEBRATION! This event will be held at On the Green Salon and Day Spa. This is a perfect opportunity to preview fall hair trends, makeup colors, and the latest collection of formal wear from The French Quarter. There will be a fashion show, chair massages, makeup consultations, hair consultations, tours of the new expansion to the spa, special savings, and a raffle to benefit the re-opening of Camden House Shelter, and what you've all been waiting for...a sneak preview of some tastes from The Green Room! There is no cost to attend, but donations will be collected to raise money to benefit The Camden House Shelter. The night will be captured by Stacy Kiernan Photography. LightHorse Inc. (501©3 non-profit) in conjunction with Southeast Community Church and Christ’s Church Camden is presenting Down By The Creek Bank dinner/theater is on September 8th. This is a fundraiser for a scholarship fund for our clients. Although our services are very much needed, insurance companies do not recognize animal assisted therapy as a billable service yet. Our program is funded half by client billing and half by donations. Unfortunately many of our families cannot afford the cost. The use of horses and small animals for healing has demonstrated effectiveness for persons with physical disabilities for more than 50 years. The use of horses and small animals for mental/emotional/behavioral issues has gained prominence in the United States in the last 10 years. The equestrian program of LightHorse Inc. is established under Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) guidelines and standards. Clients of LightHorse Inc. who previously have been unsuccessful in more traditional outpatient therapy settings; often respond to treatment utilizing the relationship with and physical mount of the horses. Clinical evidence suggests that EAAT helps clients with depression, low self-esteem, learning disabilities, anxiety, ADHD, conduct disorders, attachment disorders, substance abuse, body image disorders including anorexia and bulimia, memory impairment, sensory deficits, autism, Tourette’s syndrome, schizophrenia, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Stress Disorders, muscular disorders, PTSD and trauma from sexual/physical abuse.

09/10/12On the Green's Look Good Feel Better Class
The next scheduled Look Good Feel Better Class, hosted by On the Green Salon and Day Spa, will be Monday, September 10th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. The class is taught at the Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus. This wonderful complimentary service teaches cancer patients how to cope with their appearance and boost their self-esteem, while undergoing treatments. The professionals at On the Green share beauty techniques and tips of the trade with each individual; teaching them how to take care of their skin, apply make-up, and demonstrate different turbans, head wraps, and ways to tie scarves used to hide hair loss. They will also help individuals select a wig that is right for them, if they chose to wear one. The Green Team always invites all their “Look Good, Feel Better” friends in to have their wigs cut and styled free of charge, by their hair team at the salon, whenever they would like to. Each patient will be given a kit, provided by the American Cancer Society, valued over $250, full of make-up and skincare products based on their skin tone, which will be asked at time of registration.
