Ribbon Cutting Ceremony & Mixer

Alamanor Recreation and Park District and the Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce will host a formal "Ribbon Cutting" and "Mixer"at the district's new headquarters, 102 Meadowbrook Loop at 5:30 p.m.

Special guests will include Plumas Unified School District Superintendent Micheline Miglis and her executive team who will be honored for their generous and collaborative spirit toward the recreation district and the Lake Almanor community.

The district will provide refreshments and the Chamber will operate its traveling no host bar cart.

A regular monthly meeting of the recreation district will follow at 7 p.m. and all guests are welcome to attend.

Mixer for Almanor Recreation and Park District

Almanor Recreation and Park District cordially invites you to join with the district board of directors, district volunteers, Superintendent Micheline Miglis and her executive team as the Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce facilitates a ribbon cutting at the new district headquarters building, Thursday, Nov. 6th, at 5:30.  A mixer will follow the ceremony.
 
The district is now located at 102 Meadowbrook Loop and shares the same driveway as the Almanor Recreation Center (big green building).

UCCE Master Gardener Training

13 week training, Fridays, September 5th - December 5th

During this 13 week workshop local volunteers will be trained by UC experts and local professionals in advanced plant science and sustainable gardening practices that are applicable to local conditions. Upon completion of the training, volunteers share their newly acquired knowledge with the community through the media, talks and workshops.  

Residents of Plumas & Sierra Counties are encouraged to apply.  Prior horticulture experience is encouraged but not required.  We are seeking applicants with a strong volunteer ethic and a desire to make a long-term commitment to the program and their community.
