Juleøl (Norwegian for Christmas Ale)

Juleøl is a Norweigan-inspired strong ale (9% ABV) that contains Juniper Berries, Bay Leaf & Sage. 
 
Norway has a big home brewing culture.  Many Norwegian families create their own family holiday ale.  We enjoyed having Norwegian visitors come into the brewery last year to taste our Norwegian Christmas ale.   
 
We will begin pouring Juleøl on Thursday, 12/1 in 5oz snifters for $4. Pulpit Rock-branded souvenir snifters will also be available for $6 each or sets of 4 for $20.

They will be located at the Pilates Loft for this Saturday only and at the Hotel Winneshiek the remaining days. Decorah Public Library to host book signing with author Jerry Johnson

Decorah Public Library will host a book signing and reading with local author Jerry Johnson on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m.

The event, to be held in the Mezzanine of Decorah Public Library, 202 Winnebago St., Decorah, is open to the public with no charge for admission.

Johnson will read selections from and sign copies of his new novel, “Ivory and Gold – A Safari into the Sandhills and Across the Athi Plain.”  Copies of the book will be on sale at the Dec. 13 event.  The author will donate proceeds from the sale of “Ivory and Gold” to Friends of Decorah Public Library.
