Energy Breakfast

Earlier this year, 23 Luther students traveled to Germany and the United Kingdom to learn more about the energy transition that is underway in both countries and throughout much of Western Europe. Much of the course focused on the public policies driving the transition to renewables (onshore wind, solar, and biomass as well as offshore wind), but students also learned about the differing approaches both countries have taken with regard to nuclear power and hydraulic fracturing.

One of the Luther professors, Jim Martin-Schramm, will provide a brief overview of the course and then share his perceptions about these subjects as well as the state of the energy transition in these countries, the current state of public ownership, etc. What can we learn from these countires and implement here in our communities?

The event is free and open to the public. There will be breakfast and coffee available for purchase. Please register by Friday, August 11th, 2017.
