| 09/09/11 | Dentistry From The Heart The dentists at Elko Dental Specialists and 7 Day Dental are out to change lives this year by offering free smiles to anyone who needs dental work, as they host the latest event for Dentistry From The Heart on September 9, 2011. Hosting their 2nd annual Dentistry From The Heart event, Dr. Donald S. Gardner and his team of dentists, sponsors and volunteers will help people in need of dental work – treating patients in need of fillings, extractions and cleanings. Patients should arrive early as services will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. The event starts at 8:00 a.m. Patients are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, water, snacks, etc. as they will be outside waiting to be seen. Dentistry From The Heart (DFTH) is a registered national non-profit organization with a simple mission – making people smile. Founded in 2001 by a dentist in New Port Richey, Florida, DFTH was created to aid those in need, including the growing population of under-insured Americans. Over 100 million Americans lack dental insurance and over 29 percent of adults have untreated cavities. Now a national organization, hundreds of volunteer dentists like Dr. Gardner have brought Dentistry From The Heart events to communities across America. Without events like DFTH, dental care simply isn’t an option for many of the uninsured. To date, DFTH has helped over 60,000 patients and provided over $6 million in dental care. Dentistry From The Heart does more than repair a smile - it inspires confidence. The event will take place on Friday, September 9th at the offices of Elko Dental Specialists and 7 Day Dental located at 2575 N. 5th St., in suites A & B. Starting at 8:00 a.m., The doctors at both offices and their volunteers will treat the first 100 patients or as many they can service by 5 p.m..
