SNJ Summer Camp - Color Wars

One week.  Two teams.  Serious competition.  The battlefield: Grizzly Creek Ranch.  All activities are designed to show off the special skills you bring to your team.  Retrieve team tokens from the top of the Alpine Tower.  Outwit your opponents in mind bending puzzle challenges.  Dazzle the directors with your performance at skit night.  Rack up prizes for your team at the color carnival.  Feeling tired yet?  You better save some energy for pool noodle jousting, team Olympics, and the largest game of tag ever!  Oh, and the staff isn’t off the hook either.  Be ready to cheer on your team’s counselors as they earn points during staff events.  Are you a veteran of last year’s epic Robots vs. Cavepeople competition?  Return with your battle tested skills for some brand new challenges built around another exciting theme!  Which team’s chant will ring out in victory after the third annual Color Wars?  You decide.  See you in July.  Start training.

SNJ Summer Camp - Camp H20: Session 2

♪♪ “Row, row, row your boat, straight up Grizzly Creek!  Bring your flip flops, bring your goggles, it’s a water week!” ♪♪

Here at SNJ, our recipe for summer fun is simple: take two parts hydrogen, one part oxygen, add campers, and mix frequently.  Of course, this means plenty of chances to splash around in our pool and kayak at the pond.  But the wet and wild fun doesn’t stop when we say land ho.  Get ready for some awesome not-so-dry-land activities like a water themed carnival, giant slip n’ slide, Hawaiian Luau, raft building contest and… Pirate Day!  Because you can’t spell “water” without the ARRRRR!  Ok, we may not have an actual pirate ship, but our challenge course has enough swashbuckling elements - from cargo nets to a crow’s nest - to satisfy Blackbeard himself.  So take the plunge and join us this summer for a week of hyper-hydrated fun!

SNJ Summer Camp - Pathfinders

Use the amazing facility at SNJ as your basecamp while you explore some hidden treasures in our quiet corner of the Sierras.  Your SNJ counselors will share their local knowledge with you on guided day trips to awesome recreation areas.  But you won’t be just snapping photos through the car windows.  You’ll spend one day of adventure hiking through the rugged mountains, swimming in the crystal lakes and sampling the local cuisine (by which we mean ice cream!).  You’ll also get a chance to take in the picturesque scenery of the Lakes Basin area by saddling up on horseback!!  Leave the hard stuff to the horses as you enjoy a guided ride through the heart of the Sierras.  Meanwhile, back at the ranch you’ll have plenty of time for cookouts, campfires and other traditional camp activities.  If all this sounds tiring, don’t worry - you’ll be ready to do it all over again after a great night’s sleep in the teepees.

Ages 11-13

SNJ Summer Camp - Extreme Adventures

Do you like to get extreme?  Here at Grizzly Creek, we have all you can handle!  Scale the Alpine Tower, hike across our rugged trails and fly down the zip-line without leaving the comforts of camp.  In fact, about the only thing we’re missing here is an active volcanic landscape.  Well, if we can’t bring a volcano to you, we’ll just have to take you to the volcano!  After warming up the adventure muscles at camp, you’ll spend two incredible days in Lassen Volcanic National Park.  What could be more extreme than hiking a 10,000-foot peak, watching the earth bubble at your feet, and experiencing the icy chill of a crater lake?  Take it to the limit with us in Extreme Adventure Camp this summer.

Ages 14-17
