Game of Logging level 3 Saturday July 14th 7:30am-5:00pm Level 3 focuses on techniques for handling difficult trees such as felling trees against their natural lean (levels 1& 2 are a prerequisite) (1) Limbing (2) Bucking (3) Tree height measurement (4) Segment calculations (5) Wedging techniques (6) Hinge placement: Open face felling & development of techniques to safely use it Individuals will be responsible to provide their own chain saw, helmet, boots, chaps, safety glasses or face screen, ear muffs or plugs, and to dress for the weather. Participants should pack a brown bag lunch and enough water for the day. Sat. July 28 Catskill Mountain Artisans Guild presents a free “Kids in the Kaatskills” children’s workshop, “Puppet Show” with Mindy Pfeiffer on Sat. July 28 from 2 – 3:30pm in the “Community ArtSpace”, Commons Building, Margaretville. Interactive show featuring kid-size puppets and sign language storytelling, showing that despite our differences or disabilities we are all the same! Attendees will learn some sign language, meet some puppet “friends,” and make your own puppets. The Open Eye Youth Theater Workshop "Read, Write, Play!" continues this Saturday, July 28, through August 25, and students may attend all sessions, or as many as they can.
