Free and low cost solutions for online collaboration and document sharing from Google and other solutions. Accessing and sharing documents when you want, and from where you are can very frustrating for a business of any size. For a small business, it can be even more frustrating because they don’t have their own IT staff to help them share and collaborate with co-workers easily or conveniently. The June STCC Technology Committee meeting will focus on easy to use and free or low cost solutions to help businesses be able to share important documents and collaborate with each other in a timely manner. The main focus will be on Google Applications including: • Email • Shared Calendars • Google Docs (Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Forms and Drawings) • Google Drive (access your files from anywhere) • HelloFax (fax documents from Google Drive and Edit and Sign PDF docs in your browser) • Google Apps Apps (other free or low cost Apps to enhance Google Apps) We’ll also discuss other online file sharing options like Dropbox, as well as other open source alternatives that we find suitable for business use. We’ll also talk about the Chevy Volt – the electric and gas powered car – that Ken Tucker got to test drive for a week.
