Beer Release Party - Feather Falls Casino Brewery

Feather Falls Casino Brewing Company introduces our new seasonal brew: Bet On Black Cascadian Dark Ale! Brewmaster Roland Allen characterizes this deep brown, medium-bodied cross between a Porter and an IPA as “highly hopped, using Cascade and Chinook hops from the Northwest to achieve its aggressive piney and citrus flavors. We used cold-steeped dark malts to minimize their astringent character and to have a nice roasty balance with all the hops!” At 8% ABV and 65 IBU’s, it’s a sure bet!

Each year, this crowd-pleasing festival showcases plentiful gourmet food offerings, always-popular wine and beer sampling, nut-inspired cooking demonstrations, live musical entertainment on two outdoor stages, a wonderful art show featuring talented local artists and much more.  Presented by the Butte Agriculture Foundation and sponsored by Tri Counties Bank, C.F. Koehnen & Sons, Discovery Homes (a new partner this year) and Farmers Circle members, tickets go on sale March 6 for the 2015 California Nut Festival.

Locally grown tree nuts including almonds, walnuts, pecans and pistachios take center stage throughout the event and during much-anticipated cooking demonstrations. The goal of the vibrant, entertaining and fun annual festival is to celebrate the culinary delights grown and produced in California while paying tribute to the strong farming heritage in Butte County and also providing festival guests with an opportunity to connect with local farmers and growers.

“The California Nut Festival is really hitting its stride among foodies, farmers and the North Valley community at large,” explains Kathy Chance, lead organizer of the 2015 California Nut Festival.  “And we are excited to introduce a new sponsor -- Discovery Homes -- that joins our long-time sponsor Tri Counties Bank along with a dedicated and growing community of corporate partners that help to make this culinary event such an overwhelming success.  Plus, the community can take great pride in knowing their participation and attendance helps to support the historic Patrick Ranch Museum that is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the rich agricultural history of the area.”

To make the festival a weekend getaway for guests outside of the Chico area, the nearest airport is the Sacramento International Airport (90 minutes away) that offers shuttle services and rental car options. For travel options, visit the Chico Chamber of Commerce at www.ChicoChamber.com (click on Visitor Information/Places to Stay) for numerous local hotel and bed and breakfast accommodations.

In addition to the corporate sponsors and involved media partners, a dedicated committee of local volunteers comprised of farmers and local business people coordinate the vibrant one-day festival, which benefits the Patrick Ranch Museum, a newly restored mansion and working farm managed by the Far West Heritage Association.

General admission tickets to the California Nut Festival are $25 in advance (or $30 the day of the event) and can be purchased online or at any participating Tri Counties Bank location beginning on March 6.  Tickets for children ages 7-12 are $10 and the event is free for children six and under.  Proceeds from the California Nut Festival support the historic Patrick Ranch Museum.

Oroville Area Chamber of Commerce's 71st Annual Dinner

This Years Theme: A Night in the Old West
On Thursday, April 23 of this year,  Oroville Area Chamber of Commerce members and guests will gather at the Brewery at Feather Falls for the Chamber's 71st Annual Awards dinner.  Although it has been opined that nothing could out-do last year's event,  A Night in the Islands, it appears that this year's event, A Night in the Old West will surpass last year's rollicking good time.  In spite of the element of fun, the serious portion of the event should not be overlooked, and that is the presentation of the Chamber's Annual Awards for the Large and Small Businesses of the Year and the Business Professional of the Year.

Please keep your eye on your inbox for the final ballot which will be presented to you in the format of a survey.

In addition to a uniquely Old West menu which features Grilld Steer, Smoked Rattlesnake (Tastes like Chicken), Flaming Prairie Dog and Spicy Varmint, Feather Falls is providing top notch, or is that top knot?, entertainment with Frontier Fun.  You've seen him on “America's Got Talent”, now catch him live: Loop Rawlins with his trick-ropin', whip-snappin', gun-twirlin' show will keep you on the edge of your seat. And you'll want to dress up in your best buckles and boots, because we're looking for the Best Dressed Cowboy and Cowgirl at the party. Each winner gets $250 cash and a fancy trophy provided by our hosts. Yeehaw!

If you would like sponsor information please call the Chamber of Commerce at 530-538-2542.
