California Uniform Retail Food Facility Law requires re-testing and re-certification of competence in Food Safety and Sanitation every 5 years.  Passing the ServSafe® exam is necessary to renew your certification.  Includes the National Restaurant Association ServSafe® exam,  ServSafe® Essentials book, answer sheet & certificate.  The ServSafe® workshop is recognized by the by the California Health Department & fulfills State Certification obligations.
You will learn the importance of food safety practices and how to implement them in your food establishment. The trainer is a State certified & nationally known restaurant consultant. Participants must register and purchase books 3 weeks prior to class to allow for book delivery and self-study. Limited Seating!

The Butte County Public Health Kid’s Summer Nutrition and Physical Activity Program is back at the Oroville Branch Library offering the California Champions for Change POWER PLAY Campaign.  We want to help your child get the POWER to make healthier eating decisions and encouraging them to get at least 60-minutes of physical activity every day.  Each one-hour class will include interactive nutrition, physical activity and food demonstrations. Parents should attend along with their children.

This is a wonderful way for family and friends to gather while listening to music from impressive local bands. QuickBooks I, II, III, & IV Series

This 4-part QuickBooks series begins with how QBs works, getting around, learning common accounting terms used by QBs, creating a new company file, setting preferences, entering new customer, vendors accounts, & items, backing up your data and basic accounting, & reviewing the basic Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow reports. You will learn about working with bank accounts (including how to handle PayPal & Square), reconciling accounts, using other account types (credit cards, loans & fixed assets), entering sales information, receiving payments & making deposits, generating customer statements, entering & paying bills, downloading bank and credit card activity, issuing 1099s, and memorizing transactions. The later series covers, running related financial reports, analyzing financial data, setting up inventory, tracking & paying sales tax, tracking time, customizing forms/letters and overview of more advanced features (syncing contacts, sharing your file electronically with your accountant, exporting to Excel, using the Doc Center, entering budgets, & technical suggestions when you have problems). The trainer is a CPA and QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Training includes manual.

Vintage Tractors

Bolt's Museum is proud to welcome back Rod Hisken to their "Third Saturday" presentation series. Rod is a rancher, tractor collector and restorer and just one of the most likeable guys around. Rod's talks are relaxed and humorous and will include information on tractors dating from 1892 to 1960. His displays and talks usually have local historical interest like the 1959 John Deere 620 Orchard Tractor he brought last year. (One of only 26 gas models made, and discovered locally). Many of the tractors that he has expertly restored are displayed at shows all around the country. Rod's friends usually bring their tractors too so, there's lots to see. Sports Cars: Jaguar in the 1950s

Bolt's Museum is proud to welcome back Garry Gunderson to their "Third Saturday" presentation series. Garry will give a "brand new" informative presentation on Jaguar Sports and Racing Automobiles of the 1950s which were some of the best machines of that era. Jaguar built these cars mostly to help their nation recover from the ravages of World War II but, they ended up building machines that could beat the best in the world (eg. Ferrari) at a fraction of the cost !  Mr. Gunderson has studied, restored and collected antique automobiles for about 40 years and will have his 1956 Jaguar XK-140 MC Roadster on display to point out features and designs used on these sports/race cars built in England. "Beauty on the River, 2016" Quilt Show

We will have approximately 200 quilts on display all made by members or the Oroville Piecemakers Quilt Guild.  We will have food, amazing raffle baskets with donations from local growers as well as from business' throughout the state and country. We will also have a boutique with many items for sale made by guild members.  And, you can purchase raffle tickets for an amazing Opportunity Quilt which we have been working on for the last eight years. This is a fundraiser to support our mission which is to provide lap quilts to hospitals, child protective services, foster care, the police department, fire department, nursing homes and assisted living.
