Operation Eggnog Canned Food Drive
Harvest Preparatory Academy will be hosting their 3rd Annual Operation Eggnog Canned Food Drive.
Dates: November 28, 2016 to December 16, 2016
Purpose: Collect non-perishable foods to support families in our school and community.
Our hope is to support approx 15 families of ours with a holiday meal. Harvest Preparatory Academy is seeking donations of turkey, ham, boxed stuffing, potatoes, and other canned foods.

Buckeye Marathon - Race to the Runway
The 3rd Annual Buckeye Marathon (Certified Boston Qualifier) will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Buckeye Municipal Airport. The “Race to the Runway” full marathon will actually begin well north of the airport in a Buckeye neighborhood, Festival Ranch and will end on the runway at the airport, which is one mile south of Interstate 10 on Palo Verde Road. The 5K, 10K and Half Marathon will begin at the Buckeye Municipal Airport.
Volunteers can help over 1000 runners cross the finish line in December!
The 3rd Annual Buckeye Marathon will take place on Saturday, December 10, 2016 and the City of Buckeye Recreation Department is looking for volunteer water station attendants, medal distributors, and more.
Sign up for one of many opportunities. Volunteers of all ages are welcome; ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. Volunteer shifts occur between the hours of 7am and 2pm. All volunteers will be compensated with a shirt and paid lunch.
Benefits to volunteering include opportunity to meet new people, smiles and high-fives from race participants and community involvement.

Christmas in the Park
Free Event in Litchfield Park Town Center from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Bring the entire family for this fun filled day!
The craft show begins at 9 a.m.
The parade starts at 10 a.m., complete with marching bands, youth groups and floats.
There will be real snow, great activities, visits with Santa, and live local entertainment
throughout the day.
Hometown Christmas Parade
The Hometown Christmas Parade is an old-fashioned community event for the whole family—to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas and all its glory. We are inviting churches, businesses and other community groups from all over the Valley to join us for this very special parade.
The Hometown Christmas Parade is produced by the non-profit organization Glendale Christmas Parade, which is made up of community members who share a passion for letting the true star of Christmas shine. Luces De navidad
The City of Tolleson would like to invite you, your family and friends to the annual Luces de Navidad Festival. The festival will take place on December 10th and 11th.
Saturday, December 19, the day’s festival will consist of many activities. There will be a Polar Express Family stage from 12:00 – 6:00pm with a special meet and greet with Calum Worthy from the TV show Austin & Ally from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Also meet and take pictures with Santa Claus.
Ride the Polar Express Train, ride a Reindeer Ring, make holiday crafts, and Story Time with the Tolleson Library. There will also be a dance party with a JuJu Dance and Nae Nae contests and others. Wreath decorating for the teens.
Live entertainment consists of AJ Castillo, Suerte Musical, Unstoppable and XS Bands.
In addition, the City will have the traditional Luces of Navidad Light Parade running down Van Buren on December 10th at 7:00 p.m.

This new Cancer Support Group meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 5:00pm in Building B (enter through double doors). This group is open to the public for cancer patients and their families.
