| 06/14/11 | Willows Flag Day Ceremony VFW Post 1770 and Glenn County Veterans will host two activities on Flag Day: First activity is a 1:00 p.m. Flag Retirement Ceremony in front of Willows Memorial Hall located at 525 West Sycamore, Willows. American Flags that were turned in at the Memorial Hall Flag collection site will be respectfully retired by fire in accordance with the United Stated Flag Code. An elaborate and respectful ceremony developed by VFW Post 1770 will be initiated for the first time on the steps of Willows Memorial Hall. As many as 70 flags may be retired depending on time and weather conditions. Assisting with the ceremony are members from the CHP, Glenn County Sherriff’s Dept., Glenn County Corrections, Glenn County Veterans Rep., Willows Police Dept., Willows Fire Dept., VFW – Women’s Auxiliary, Willows BSA Troop 57 and a host of others. The public is welcome to attend. The second activity is our 3rd Vets Night Out scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9:15 p.m. Vets and friends are welcomed to attend. more info... |
