Shane Copeland, President and founder of Copeland Collision Consulting, LLC is a south Georgia native. He is a graduate of Georgia Christian School in Valdosta, Georgia where he served four years as class president. Despite a 16 year marriage and three children, he is currently in his senior semester at Valdosta State University. He is a SCUBA Rescue Divemaster and is currently acquiring his commercial pilot?s license. Shane has served the state of Georgia as a Trooper at Post 31, Valdosta since 2008. He is also a Deacon at the Dasher Church of Christ and a member of three local music bands.
Shane began surveying and mapping in 1995 with McLeod Surveying Company. Here, he became proficient in the fields of geometry and calculus. He took these acquired skills to the 86th Georgia State Trooper Academy with aspirations of someday becoming a member of the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (S.C.R.T.). Shane successfully completed On-Scene Crash Investigation Levels 1-2, Accident Reconstruction Levels 1-5 as well as Pedestrian Crash Investigation, Motorcycle Crash Investigation and Forensic Mapping/Computer Aid Drafting. In 2016 he completed the Momentum Angle Measurement course and passed the state of Georgia reconstruction comprehensive exam certifying him as a Crash Reconstruction Specialist.
Mr. Copeland has investigated nearly 1600 accidents as a Trooper and was lead investigator for 20 fatal accidents. He has investigated and or assisted other investigators with hundreds of serious injury accidents. While currently awaiting a position to open on the S.C.R.T., he instructs crash investigation and accident reconstruction at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. He has testified in numerous court and deposition settings.
