Bay Area Performing Arts (BAPA) was founded more than 2 decades ago by Prabha Gopal. Prabha has presented almost all of the leading, world renowned artists from India in very reputable theaters in the Bay Area. Artists include Tabla Maestro and winner of the 2009 Grammy Award, Zakir Hussain, considered as the best hand drummer in the world. Prabha has arranged workshops and has sponsored tours of these artists all over the U.S. and Canada. Prabha Gopal appeared on Bay Area Backroads, co-hosting with the famous Doug McConnell in 2007.
