Event Registration - Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce
White Rock Artist Market 06/08/13 - 09/28/13 Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corportation (“Organizer”) is soliciting interest and applications for a seasonal outdoor artist and artisans market to be held on each Saturday beginning June 8th, 2013 ending by Saturday September 28th. It will be held in White Rock New Mexico at The White Rock Visitors Center at 115 NM State Road 4.
The Organizer believes that this market will offer a significant new opportunity for artists and artisans to connect with the increase in seasonal traffic that travels by the market site on State Road 4. White Rock is the Eastern terminus of the Jemez Mountains National Scenic Byway and benefits from its position as an Eastern gateway to Bandelier National Monument, the Valles Caldera National Preserve, and the Jemez Mountains. During the months that the market will be held, all people visiting Bandelier National Monument will be required to park their vehicles in White Rock in order to take a shuttle bus service to and from the park. Based on historical attendance, about 350 per day are expected and the average number of people per car is 2.7. The shuttle service will run 3 times per hour between 8 am and 6 pm.
The intent of offering this market is to provide additional interesting cultural activities in the community, to foster regional arts and culture interchange, to provide vending opportunities to artists and artisans, and to increase commercial vitality in the White Rock commercial area.
Location: The White Rock Visitors Center, 115 NM State Road 4, White Rock, NM 87544
