About Us
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Horses Help utilizes specially trained horses, well-qualified instructors that are certified by North American Riding for the Handicapped Assn. (NARHA), physical and occupational therapists, and community volunteers to form exceptional teams to work with the riders. A wide variety of disabilities are represented such as autism, developmental delay, mental retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, stroke, head injury, near drowning, hearing and vision impairment. Our riders range from age 3 through seniors. Riders participate weekly to learn riding skills, receive therapy, and enjoy the freedom of movement on THEIR horse. Leaving wheelchairs and walkers behind, these riders control their horse through obstacles and journey where they couldn't otherwise go by themselves. Volunteers give support and insure each rider's safety.
