About Us
The Butte County Historical Society is a California non-profit benefit corporation, founded in 1956.
It's purpose is to foster the preservation of the history of Butte County and to encourage research thereof.
To collect artifacts of historical value, records , pictures and documents for the enjoyment of present and future generations.
To establish nd develope a museum tohouse the above.
To encourage and cooperate with the other organizations with similar goals in the county of Butte.
We own The Ehmann Home at 1480 Lincoln St.,Oroville, Hdg);
Butte County Museum and Archives at Baldwin and Spencer,Oroville; the Bangor Church, Bangor; and the
Oregon City School, Oregon City.
