It's Not The Flu As Usual! The Centers for Disease Control anticipates that the pandemic H1N1 influenza will circulate along with regular influenza viruses this fall and winter, and states that infection rates could be 2 to 3 times higher than usual as the pandemic and seasonal flue circulate and sicken people simultaneously. Develop plans to protect your employees and maintain your operation. The Butte County Public Health Department's website has important guidelines, information and tools for employers about dealing with the influenza season.

Holiday Blues Review & Auction 11-13-09 The Holiday Blues Review & Auction, presented by the Oroville Area Chamber of Commerce, will make its debut at the Gold Country Casino Showroom on Friday, Nov. 13. Come and enjoy live blues music, delicious food, wine tasting, a live auction and huge silent auction. Tickets are only $15 for this year's fall event. This is a new twist on a familiar event. We’ll still have a live auction, huge silent auction, art, wine tasting and great food provided by Gold Country Casino, but this year guests can dance to the sounds Rube & The Rhythm Rockers. We've even reduced the price to $15. It promises to be a lot of fun, and you might get some great deals on holiday gift items. 10-30-09 Please join us for the Lineman Rodeo. This is a display of the skills that our students have learned over the past 15 weeks during the Electrical Lineworker Program. Rodeo starts at 9 am. Oroville/Las Plumas Sports Fundraiser BBQ & Mustang Raffle 10-30-09 Butte Community Bank will host a hotdog BBQ to raise funds for Oroville & Las Plumas High School sports. Hot dogs are $1 or get the meal for $5. While you're there, purchase raffle tickets to win a brand new Ford Mustang and check out the car. Raffle tickets are $20, the drawing will be held on March 5th at Nolan Field.
2009 LPO Cow Pie Keno Fundraiser 10-31-09 The LPO Band Boosters' version of Cow Pie Keno. Will “it” land in your square?! Cost is $25 Contact Anna Olson 533-4845 Keep Smilin' Oroville!The Centennial Clock that was the unfortunate recipient of a wayward vehicle last spring in historic downtown Oroville has been replaced. The original clock was donated by the Noontime Rotary Club in 2006 honoring the City’s one hundredth anniversary. The new clock, a classic two dial, is prominently displayed on the 1900 block of Montgomery Street in the historic downtown district adding a vintage look to the streetscape. The clock has the Rotary International insignia encased in the twenty-four inch timepiece. Sharon Atteberry, City Administrator, said, “We are pleased to have the clock back, up and running for all to enjoy.”
