About Us

Blocks Of Joy Foundation

At Blocks of Joy, we want to help bring educational toys and furniture to those in need. We are a little unique because we have multiple angles to both help people/children and help people to help other people.

Volunteerism - To support our foundation, anyone can volunteer from their garages and make a difference to a child. Many people have garages AND tools AND the desire to make fun things. If your employer offers volunteer time, you can volunteer your time right from your garage! If you become a member, you can volunteer your time, build a project, and make a donation directly to an organization or child you feel qualifies.

Memberships - If you have a garage, a little time, and a desire to make some fun projects for children, you are exactly who we need to further our efforts. Anyone can join and begin enriching the lives of children.

Tax Deductible Contributions - We have our IRS 501(c)3 tax designation, which means donations to the foundation are tax deductible. Our members can enjoy the benefit of making toys for children or other non-profit organizations and deducting the market value of their creations from their taxes. If you spend $20 on lumber and make $200 worth of toys, that is what you are allowed to deduct from your taxes. Spend time in the Garage, relax, make some toys, and get a tax break along the way. It is a win-win for everyone.

Will the real hero please step up? We aren't here to claim credit for any donations or contributions. We want to help facilitate others in their endeavors to make charitable contributions. Anyone can become a member and make donations from anywhere. As the founder, I don't expect to be credited for each contribution. I love the idea that Jennifer in Minnesota can work in her garage, make some toys, and donate them to any charity or child in her community. Yes, she is a member of the Blocks of Joy Foundation, but she is the hero in that story. She did the work, she made the contributions, and she should get recognition for those things.

Blocks of joy are merely a vehicle for people to make contributions that are meaningful to them.
