Community News

Yes... We are Relocating!

By now you've no doubt heard the news that we are relocating. We wish there had been time to communicate directly with each of you prior to the announcement, but that was not to be.

The good news is that many cities have reached out to us to invite us into their communities. They have also offered help in moving all the wonderful things that the community has come to know as Challenger.

Our new location will still house the wonderful Simulated Space Module as well as many of the extraordinary art collections and artifacts that we have shared with our guests for the past 17 years.

Additionally, the spaces we are considering will be able to accommodate wonderful new features as well. We are looking for the opportunity that allows us to expand our Smithsonian traveling exhibits, additional hands-on new exhibits as well as many more experiences that will offer our guests real-time views of outer space and so much more!

This type of expansion will obviously take more than a couple of weeks to accomplish, but instead will be done in phases with Phase 1 being the activation of our educational programs that have been available for 17 years. Once those programs are fully functional, we will begin the work to organize the new exhibit space where we hope to introduce new technologies and exciting features.

If you want to be a part of the new Challenger experience, you can donate at GoFundMe or on our website at www.azchallenger.org. Help us continue the work of the last 17 years to educate, inspire and excite people of all ages about the mysteries and wonders of the universe and the world in which we live. Every dollar helps as we make this transition.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL MEMBERSHIPS AND PASSES WILL BE EXTENDED FOR THE LENGTH OF TIME WE NEED TO RELOCATE. IN ADDITION, WE WILL ALSO GIVE AN ADDITIONAL MONTH FREE OF CHARGE TO COMPENSATE YOU FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. FOR ANY OTHER QUESTIONS REGARDING DEPOSITS FOR SPECIAL EVENTS, PLEASE CALL (623) 322-2044. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS REGARDING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, PLEASE CALL (623) 322-2033.

Thank you for being a part of our history ... and thank you to those who are choosing to be a part of our future!
