About Port Clinton Auto Repair
In 1949, in the small, quaint, local community of Port Clinton, Ohio, on the coast of Lake Erie, fresh out of the Naval Air Corp and World War II, Jack Smith was faced with going into the insurance business or opening a mobile gas station. He chose the latter of the two, beginning what is now Port Clinton Auto Repair. He was married to LaDonna Burghard Smith, with one baby and one on the way. The one on the way was Kim B Smith, now the proud owner of Port Clinton Auto Repair.
Kim had the opportunity to grow up in the business and get to know local people. His dad taught him to take care of our people first, whether its putting air in a childs bicycle tire or shuttling a customer to work, and this has been Kims resounding rule. The community has grown to trust Jack and now Kim. Word of mouth, community service, and referrals have always been their best forms of advertising from day one.
