Anoka County Recognized for Economic Partnership

The Anoka County Regional Economic Development Partnership was honored with a 2019 Economic Development Association of Minnesota (EDAM) Award during EDAM’s Winter Conference Jan. 24 in St. Louis Park.

The award was given to the Anoka County Regional Economic Development Partnership — which was formed in 2017 as a collaborative effort between Anoka County, Connexus Energy and the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce — for its Economic Development Roadmap and innovative partnership.  Bruce Sayler, principal of community and economic development at Connexus Energy, was nominated for his key role in getting the partnership started, and he accepted the award on behalf of the partnership.

The Partnership Award recognizes exceptional efforts and accomplishments of organizations working together to achieve positive results in economic development in the state of Minnesota. EDAM’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize outstanding economic development projects in the following categories: business retention and expansion; business recruitment; economic development initiative; economic development marketing; redevelopment; and partnership.

“This award highlights the effort the Anoka County Regional Economic Development Partnership has put in to increase economic development in our area,” said Rhonda Sivarajah, chair, Anoka County Board. “We’re proud of our partnerships in Anoka County, and we’ll continue to work to build relationships that result in economic progress for our communities.”
