Anoka County Commissioners to Attend National Association of Counties Conference

NACo’s ten policy steering committees meet at the conference to review and make recommendations on public policy and legislation covering the full array of domestic issues impacting county governments and local communities.  The policy development process initiated by the steering committees is the foundation for the American County Platform, which is used to deliver the county government message to the Administration, Congress and the American public.  “NACo’s Annual Conference & Exposition provides Anoka County with a seat at the table for our voice to be heard at the federal level,” Schulte said.  “Of particular interest to Anoka County this year is the federal transportation agenda and the opioid epidemic solution.”
Schulte went on to note that the conference will provide access to information and resources to address pressing challenges — the opioid and heroin crisis, criminal justice and mental health reform, transportation and infrastructure, economic development and much more.  The conference will advance Anoka County’s mission to be respectful, innovative and fiscally responsible.
A nonpartisan organization, NACo assists America’s 3,069 counties by amplifying their voices at the national level, connecting local and federal officials and providing tools to help counties achieve local priorities
