On April 28th, 1979 the FEATHER RIVER "A's" came into existence in Quincy, California. At that time the club was formally accepted into the Model A Ford Club of America, MAFCA, becoming the FEATHER RIVER A's Chapter of MAFCA.
Our club is dedicated to the preservation and driving enjoyment of what we think was one of Henry Fords Greatest Creations, the Model 'A' Ford, produced from late 1927 until 1931. We have many club activities and weekend tours in our Model 'A' Automobiles. We have an Annual Event on the first weekend after Labor Day, this being our second, that consists of a RALLY and CAR SHOW that brings Model A's from all over Northern California and Nevada to the Quincy area for a fun two days of Model 'A' activities during which we have Tours to one of our local places of interest, last year was a tour to Buck's Lake and this year we are going to the Portola Railroad Museum. Saturday evening we have a BBQ and Swing Dance, co sponsored by the Quincy Chamber of Commerce, which is open to the public for local residents to come and enjoy the viewing of many Model 'A' Automobiles and partake in our Saturday evening activites. |
