Growth Strategy - During the period from1996 through 1998, Metal Management achieved a leading position in the metals recycling industry primarily by implementing a national strategy of completing and integrating regional acquisitions. In making acquisitions, we focused on major metropolitan markets where prime industrial and obsolete scrap is readily available and from where we can better service our customer base. Through the integration of our acquired businesses, we have enhanced our competitive position and profitability of the operations because of broader distribution channels, improved managerial and financial resources, greater purchasing power and increased economies of scale.

The company has an extensive sales network and produces a broad range of quality products which are shipped economically via several distribution channels, including truck, rail, barge and ocean vessel, to access all domestic and international markets.
