Company
Our company began in 1900 when two men Hutchison & Broadbent broke away from the job shop sector of the Daily News of McKeesport. As time went on an apprentice of the company Elmer Wivagg bought out both the owners and became Wivagg Printing primarily a letterpress shop. Elmer had begun to integrate offset to the company when tragedy stuck and the building caught fire in 1972. After recovering from the fire the shop became primarily offset and began down the road that leads us to today. The Wivagg family is no longer involved with the company they decide to leave the business in the early 90's and sold the company to three investors an employee Ed Gronlund, and two owners of Ryan Printing. Shortly after the turn of the century the Ryans no longer wished to be involved an sold to another employee who started as an apprentice in 1995 and is now Owner and President of the company. As you can see throughout the history of the company it has remained somewhat of a family oriented business. The one thing that remained an an enigma was how to pronounce our name Wivagg (wiv-ag) and where are we located in McKeesport and the most common response was Next to H&H fish a staple in downtown McKeesport. Ironically we are still in business and H&H went out at the beginning of 2007.
