-- See our unique, historic, hand-painted murals of pioneer families, children, mining and ranching scenes and a Native American sculpture.

-- Stop in for an old-fashioned soda at one of our drugstores.

-- Take a self-guided tour of homes, churches, murals, and other important sites.

-- Have a picnic at the County Park and feed the ducks.

-- Go to a race at the Great Basin Speedway.

-- Trace the Nevada section of the historic Lincoln Highway in Ely and along US Highway 50.

-- Attend one of our many special summer events including class reunions, car shows, fairs, glider races, old-fashioned 4th of July parades, the Lund Pioneer Days Rodeo, the Native American Fandango, dances, barbeques and more.

-- Enjoy the Ward Mountain Recreation Area at Murray Summit and hike the trails.

-- Visit the Ward Charcoal Oven State Park.

-- Visit the Great Basin National Park. And along the way visit the Fremont Archeology Site near Baker.

-- Fish and camp at Cave Lake or fish at Comin's Lake. Ask about dozens of other special camping areas.

-- Swim in McGill's spring-fed pool (summer only).

-- Take a ride into the desert and look for garnets at Garnet Hill. Or visit Hercules Gap north of Ely.

-- Visit the historic mining town of Ruth, or visit a real mining ghost town like Osceola (50 miles east of Ely).

-- Play golf at the 18-hole White Pine Golf Course, or play tennis on the courts nearby.

-- Take a drive through the mountains south and east of Ely over scenic Success Loop.

-- Photograph and view wildlife including elk, deer, rabbits, birds, antelope, lizards and more.

-- Hike mountain trails to alpine lakes. Or go on a trail ride or stay at a dude ranch.
