Birthday Party for The Whale Museum on July 8

The Whale Museum appreciates the American Legion Post #163 for use of the parking lot and patio for the celebration; the Sons of the American Legion for grilling the burgers; and Jenny for baking the birthday cupcakes.  This is a celebration fundraiser for the museum which was community-built and has been supported by the community since before its doors opened to the public on July 8, 1979.

The Whale Museum is located in Friday Harbor at 62 First St. N.  Founded in 1976, The Whale Museum’s mission is to promote stewardship of whales and the Salish Sea ecosystem through education and research.  In addition to providing exhibits, the Museum also provides programs including the Marine Naturalist Training, Orca Adoption Program, SeaSound.org Acoustics, Soundwatch, San Juan County Marine Mammal Stranding Network, and the Whale Hotline.
