The Elwha Project, Salmon and Orca Recovery

This workshop is ideal for those wishing to continue their education as a naturalist or for those who simply have an interest in knowing more about salmon and the Southern Resident Killer Whales! In this course, participants will be immersed in a “Deep Dive” of learning about salmon, the recovery of the Elwha River and the effects this recovery has had on the nearshore ecosystem, as well as the importance of Critical Habitat to the Southern Resident Killer Whales. A field trip to the Salmon Cascades of the Sol Duc River is included, where returning coho salmon can be seen from late September into early November.
Workshop is limited to 20 participants so reserve your spot soon! Tuition includes: transportation to all field locations from Port Angeles; Reception on Friday evening; Lunches on Saturday and Sunday; Dinners on Friday and Saturday.
