2017 San Juan Community Theatre Holiday Show

Be entranced as we transform the theatre into a dazzling winter wonderland.  Our beloved host, Jay Fiske, returns to whisk us through a lively, riotous live auction. While away the evening with fine wine and cheerful conversation as you browse a thoughtfully-curated selection of silent auction items. The evening’s festivities culminate in an epicurean celebration presented by Coho Restaurant.  After your meal, toast with spirits and gourmet desserts as you dance the night away.

Island Stage Left will present the PLAY Annapurna

The play runs from Nov. 9 through Dec. 3 at the San Juan County Fairground’s Marie Boe Building. Saturday performances start at 7 p.m. and Sunday shows at 4 p.m. Director Helen Machin-Smith describes the play as, “compelling, laugh-out-loud funny, moving, devastating, and hopeful. It is a tour de force for two outstanding actors, and is an absolute joy to witness.” The play opens on a down-on-his-luck cowboy poet living in a run-down trailer in the Colorado Rockies. His life is upended by the sudden arrival of Emma, his ex-wife from 20 years ago, but amid laughter and tears, they discover the answers to some burning questions from the past. Annapurna, in Nepal, is the most dangerous mountain in the world to climb; a fitting metaphor for the journey of love that Emma and Ulysses undertake as time begins to run out. San Juan Singers Christmas Concert

San Juan Island’s community chorus celebrates Christmas and the winter season in songs and carols. The anchor piece is "The Seven Joys of Christmas," by Kirke Mechem, accompanied by a small chamber ensemble.  The Joy of Love, the Joy of Bells, the Joy of Mary, the Joy of Children, the Joy of the New Year, the Joy of Dance, the Joy of Song:  each one of these Joys is represented by a Christmas carol or winter anthem in this suite of songs.  This concert is filled with beautiful and sometimes amusing settings of familiar carols and anthems, poems and songs of the season of joy.  December 9 & 10 Saturday 7:30 PM Sunday 2:00 PM
