SJCT Presents the Holiday Festival 2017

San Juan Community Theatre

The Theatre kicks off December with Holiday Festival 2017, its biggest FUNdraiser of the year since 1989.  The Saturday, December 2 event features the ever-charismatic auctioneer Jay Fiske, silent and live auction items (including many travel and dining experiences), and new twists to both the gourmet food from COHO restaurant and the musical entertainment.  Be entranced as we transform the theatre into a dazzling winter wonderland—a time to embrace the joy of the holidays with theatre and island friends. For tickets and more information, contact the SJCT Box Office at 360-378-3210 or visit www.sjctheatre.org.

Winter Flea and Craft Market

The San Juan County Fairgrounds will host its annual Winter Flea and Craft Market. Over 35 booths with Holiday gifts, local crafts, vintage finds, and special bargains (it is a Flea Market after all) are sure to entice shoppers of all ages! 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Island Stage Left will present the PLAY Annapurna

. The play runs through Dec. 3 at the San Juan County Fairground’s Marie Boe Building. Saturday performances start at 7 p.m. and Sunday shows at 4 p.m.Director Helen Machin-Smith describes the play as, “compelling, laugh-out-loud funny, moving, devastating, and hopeful. It is a tour de force for two outstanding actors, and is an absolute joy to witness.” The play opens on a down-on-his-luck cowboy poet living in a run-down trailer in the Colorado Rockies. His life is upended by the sudden arrival of Emma, his ex-wife from 20 years ago, but amid laughter and tears, they discover the answers to some burning questions from the past. Annapurna, in Nepal, is the most dangerous mountain in the world to climb; a fitting metaphor for the journey of love that Emma and Ulysses undertake as time begins to run out.
