The Film Festival Favorite is Tonight

Friday Harbor Film Festival

The Friday Harbor Film Festival presents the film “Crazywise”. This is a very special screening with both the director, Phil Borges and the producer Julee Geier, attending for a thought provoking discussion along with local mental health expert Gary Waters. It happens on Tuesday, March 20th 7:00 pm at the Grange, 152 First Street; admission is by donation.  Crazy…or wise?  There is a growing movement of mental health professionals in this country who are concerned about how various psychoses are defined and treated in the West.

Houses on Barges

San Juan Community Home Trust

San Juan Community Home Trust will be taking delivery of two new houses for our Sun Rise II development this Wednesday, 21 March at 5:30am at Jackson Beach. The operation of off loading them from the barge and moving them to the neighborhood is likely to take about 4 hours.  People gathered at the beach can come up to Sun Rise and have coffee and pastries while watching the houses moved onto the site.  We will probably be there from 8am until about 10am, with music, and raffle for a child’s Tesla just in case things get boring on the job site! We are hoping that you can take a few minutes and come by sometime during this exciting process. Thought you might like to know we are “barging ahead” with our project.
