The Market Chef is celebrating its’ 18th year of business on San Juan Island with a fresh remodel, a new revolving seasonal sandwich menu, the addition of a fun new retail space and regional beer, wine and cider on! The Market Chef’s Spring hours are Monday-Friday from 11-4.

Whale Museum Lecture Series

On June 25, Joan Drinkwin, Natural Resources Consultants, and Monica Shoemaker, Washington Department of Natural Resources, will present information about an innovative new project that will bring Army soldiers to dive deep to help improve wildlife habitat in Puget Sound. Their lecture “Army Deepwater Derelict Net Removal Project will remove derelict fishing nets from Puget Sound” will be held at the Whale Museum at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, as part of The Whale Museum’s Summer Lecture Series.



We’re putting the finishing touches on the Mullis Center’s annual coupon book and still have time and space to include your business.  This local coupon book has been around for nearly two decades. It encourages folks to shop locally and will bring new customers to your business while raising funds needed to operate our Community Center.  


Pod Nods at The Whale Museum

Pod Nod overnight marine adventures return this summer to The Whale Museum! These popular “pajama party” sleepovers are geared for children ages 6 to 11 and will be held on the following Fridays: July 12, August 2, and August 23.

Sunday-Thursday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Friday-Saturday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Village at the Harbour Fundraiser

Dust off your cowboy boots because the Village at the Harbour is pleased to announce they will be hosting a vital fundraiser, "The Hospice of San Juan Giddy Up" on Saturday, July 20th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm to benefit the 100% volunteer run organization, Hospice of San Juan. 


Theme for 2019 Friday Harbor July 4th Parade San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the theme for the 2019 4th of July Parade in Friday Harbor: “Parade of Stars”, past and present…
The event has been rated one of the top 10 small town 4th of July celebrations in the USA.  The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 4th. A full day of food, entertainment and music, will culminate with a glorious fireworks extravaganza over the scenic Port of Friday Harbor.

Friday Harbor Bike Fest

San Juan Lions

The upcoming Friday Harbor Bike Fest is the third annual bike ride sponsored by the San Juan Lions Club. In the past this event was known as the Friday Harbor Bike-n-Brew. This year’s event is being held on June 1st to coincide with the 30th annual San Juan Island Artists’ Studio Tour. There will be numerous ride options, a 12-mile ride, a 20-mile ride, and a metric century.


Barbershop Bonanza

For 22 years we have had a 2pm matinee on the first Sunday in June, but this year The Island Chordsmen Plus chorus is sponsoring our 23rd annual "Barbershop Bonanza" on a new day and time.  Please set aside the evening of Saturday, June 1st at 7:30pm for "Pop on the Rock!"    


Island Art Studio Tour

28th Annual San Juan Island Artists’ Studio Tour
Save the Date June 1-2, 2019, and be one of the hundreds who attend this year’s annual San Juan Island Artists’ Studio Tour. Plan a fabulous art weekend in the San Juan Islands!
This will be the largest, most exciting and fun-filled island event yet! Expect to find lots and lots of new studios for 2019 with 22 mutually supportive island art studios, and over 50 total artists featuring glass blowing, etchings, mixed media, handmade knives, kaleidoscopes, wearable art and jewelry, fused glass and fine art. Take the self-guided tour to visit personal studios around the island and watch great art in the making.


Pancake Breakfast

Join us this Sunday, June 2 for the next Community Pancake Breakfast!   All proceeds from this popular monthly fundraiser go to support San Juan Island’s Wheels on Meals program, co-sponsored and coordinated by San Juan County, Whatcom Council on Aging, and the Mullis Center.
