Pod Nod overnight marine adventures return this summer to The Whale Museum! These popular “pajama party” sleepovers are geared for children ages 6 to 11 and will be held on the following Fridays: August 2, and August 23. Pod Nods are led by Museum Educators with assistance from other adult professionals. 

Every Saturday through September 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Salty Fox Coffee will offer tastings of cider and wines, food available cheese and Charcuterie, hummus plate and small bites available. Located at 85 Front Street. Madrone Cellars and Cider shall provide the beverages for sale.

The SJI Women’s Fund members voted to award $5,000 to four local nonprofits during the most recent SJICF grant cycle. Compass Health Friday Harbor received support for therapy materials for families with special needs; the San Juan Island Family Resource Center received funds for two programs — Island Neighbors and College Mentoring; and the San Juan County Economic Development Council received funds for an electrical basics training course.

July 20-21 Tours and exhibits survey the entire process - from field to finished product. The fields are open for strolling, relaxing and breathtaking photo ops. We'll be joined by many local artists who will have their work on display and for sale in the fields. Local musicians - Erandolin Strings Celtic Band, Katura Marimba and Kubatana Marimba will be serenading us throughout the day and Lavendera Massage will be providing relaxing treatments amongst the flowers.

This summer, Ben Jeffrey will be joining us from the New York production of Disney's The Lion King for an extraordinary event! Ben has been playing the role of Pumbaa for nine years, and singing his heart out on Broadway and in tours across the country. Ben will be belting out his favorite hits from his time on Broadway, intertwined with anecdotes about life with performers when you're all doing the same show eight times a week. Coho Restaurant is pleased to present our second annual Farm to Table Dinner at Pelindaba Lavender as a capstone to the festival on Sunday night to benefit SAFE San Juans. Enjoy a memorable farm dinner prepared by Coho Restaurant’s culinary team. We’ll feature the flavors of the summer drawing ingredients from local San Juan Island farms, those from the mainland and a touch of culinary lavender from the fields where you are seated, a definite sense of place.

Running monthly from July-August, spend a summer day cruising the back roads of San Juan Island en route to one of our beautiful local farms! Meet at the SJI Co-op at the appointed day and time. Third Saturday Contra Dance at the Grange Hall in Friday Harbor Saturday July 20th, 7 till 9 PM-$10 donation at the door, $5 students. Carve up the best dance floor in the Islands to wonderful old-time music and energetic cheerful calling. As always, all dances are taught so no need for previous contra dance experience; everyone is welcome, no need to bring a partner. Enjoy a grand ole time as the magic of dancing together unfolds! Dust off your cowboy boots because the Village at the Harbour is pleased to announce they will be hosting a vital fundraiser, "The Hospice of San Juan Giddy Up" on Saturday, July 20th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm to benefit the 100% volunteer run organization, Hospice of San Juan.  This organization is truly neighbors helping neighbors.  This event will include live music, fantastic food including a BBQ truck, refreshing signature cocktails, silent auction and rumor has it....miniature ponies!  Tickets will be $100 per person or $150 per couple.
