Pod Nods at The Whale Museum

Pod Nod overnight marine adventures return this summer to The Whale Museum! These popular “pajama party” sleepovers are geared for children ages 6 to 11 and will be held on the following Fridays: August 2, and August 23. Pod Nods are led by Museum Educators with assistance from other adult professionals.

Wine and Cider Tastings at Salty Fox Coffee

Every Saturday through September 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Salty Fox Coffee will offer tastings of cider and wines, food available cheese and Charcuterie, hummus plate and small bites available. Located at 85 Front Street. Madrone Cellars and Cider shall provide the beverages for sale.

SJI Women’s Fund Awards Grants

The SJI Women’s Fund members voted to award $5,000 to four local nonprofits during the most recent SJICF grant cycle. Compass Health Friday Harbor received support for therapy materials for families with special needs; the San Juan Island Family Resource Center received funds for two programs — Island Neighbors and College Mentoring; and the San Juan County Economic Development Council received funds for an electrical basics training course.

Pelindaba Lavender Festival

July 20-21 Tours and exhibits survey the entire process - from field to finished product. The fields are open for strolling, relaxing and breathtaking photo ops. We'll be joined by many local artists who will have their work on display and for sale in the fields. Local musicians - Erandolin Strings Celtic BandKatura Marimba and Kubatana Marimba will be serenading us throughout the day and Lavendera Massage will be providing relaxing treatments amongst the flowers.

Broadway comes to SJI

This summer, Ben Jeffrey will be joining us from the New York production of Disney's The Lion King for an extraordinary event! Ben has been playing the role of Pumbaa for nine years, and singing his heart out on Broadway and in tours across the country. Ben will be belting out his favorite hits from his time on Broadway, intertwined with anecdotes about life with performers when you're all doing the same show eight times a week. Ben Jeffrey is a master storyteller, an incredible vocalist, a dedicated comedian, and you might see a San Juan Islander or two joining him for a duet or trio! This performance is Pay What You Can and sure to be packed!!! Village at the Harbour Fundraiser

Dust off your cowboy boots because the Village at the Harbour is pleased to announce they will be hosting a vital fundraiser, "The Hospice of San Juan Giddy Up" on Saturday, July 20th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm to benefit the 100% volunteer run organization, Hospice of San Juan.  This organization is truly neighbors helping neighbors.  This event will include live music, fantastic food including a BBQ truck, refreshing signature cocktails, silent auction and rumor has it....miniature ponies!  Tickets will be $100 per person or $150 per couple.
