St. Charles Chamber of Commerce Now Offers Free Web Page (03/03/10)
“Web page templates can be customized by member businesses to promote their products and/ or services. We are able to apply for a domain name that would allow their page to give them a web presence if a business doesn’t have a website,” said Scott Tate, President/ CEO of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce. “The web page also allows members to create online coupons to their business, display a video or podcast commercial to use for promotion, and gives the business a mobile web presence.”
This benefit allows potential customers and prospective clients the opportunity to learn more about a business and the services they offer before that first phone call is made. It gives the member business the chance to promote themselves by giving them an edge over a non-member business.
Since launching in October 2009, the Chamber has seen phenomenal success with the new upgrades. “We’ve had 436,411 membership directory queries and 647,445 member exposures through our website and internet search engine visits,” said Wendy Rackovan, Vice President of Marketing & Communications for the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce.
St. Charles Chamber is Missouri's 2009 Chamber of the Year (10/21/09)
Special thanks goes out to the board, staff, and members for making us the best and to the Missouri Chamber for recognizing our efforts.
About Us
In 1939, nine local businessmen decided it was time to reactivate the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce which had been dormant since its inception in 1917.
Serving as volunteers, a Board of Directors sets the policies for the Chamber.
The Mayor of St. Charles serves as an ex-officio board member.
The administrative head of the Chamber is known as the President / CEO. He or she, and the professional support staff, are employed by the Chamber to handle its daily operations.
As a non-profit, membership-supported organization, the Chamber receives no tax money, but works closely with the Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau and the City of St. Charles' Economic Development office to promote the city.Whether your business is large or small, if you're a new resident or St. Charles native, or just planning to spend some time visiting, we are here to serve you.
The Chamber is financed by each member's apportioned investment in the Chamber. Chamber membership should be view as an investment in the present and future of the individual company's and community's welfare. Membership is open to any firm or organization that has an interest in community improvement and in the prosperity of its own business or organization.
With membership come many tangible and intangible benefits such as committee work and helping to fulfill the Chamber's mission: to represent, support, and promote our members by educating, communicating, and fostering opportunities for the economic prosperity of business; fostering member relationships by providing networking opportunities; and advocating for the betterment of our community. .
Members receive the tangible benefits of customer referrals from the many inquiries which come to the Chamber office, the monthly newsletter (and its opportunities for advertising to the membership), and through committee work, Business After Hours events, and membership meetings.
It's been 70 years since those nine businessmen reactivated the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce. Would they recognize today's St. Charles Chamber of Commerce? - Definitely!
Today's committed membership is the product of their early vision. Would they be proud of us? - Absolutely!
