St. Louis RCGA Honors State Senator Tom Dempsey for Economic Development Efforts

ST. LOUIS,  MO. The St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Association has recognized Senator Tom Dempsey for distinguished service through outstanding leadership in support of economic development.

Senator Dempsey was among 23 legislators from Missouri and Illinois who were recognized for their economic development efforts in the bi-state region and presented the Lewis & Clark Statesman Award  Aug. 23 in St. Louis.

The RCGA noted that even as both states grappled with dramatic budget shortfalls, several legislators worked hard to improve the business climate, create new economic development tools and protect proven programs.

“We appreciate the work of Senator Dempsey, especially in these difficult economic times.  They strive to create programs and policies that encourage job growth and a better economy for all of us,” said Scott Tate, President & CEO of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce.

Other winners from Missouri were state Representatives John Diehl, Tim Jones, Tishaura Jones, Jerry Nolte, Ron Richard, Mike Talboy, Steven Tilly and state Senators Kevin Engler and Eric Schmitt.

Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to State Senators John Griesheimer and state Representatives Allen Icet and Rachel Storch.
