Moultrie County Local Purveyor Guide & Coupon Book

Stepheny McMahon

we have in Moultrie County who are growing vegetables, producing handmade items, teaching classes, serving food and so much more.  Our community has a wealth of amazing people with great ideas who are taking the risk of opening a business.  Our entrepreneurs face challenges every day, they work long hours and in the end must depend on themselves to make their business successful.  These entrepreneurs deserve our respect and our support.

The Guide also promotes shopping locally and why it is important to patronize locally owned businesses as often as possible.  We’ve all seen the shop local ad that states “When you buy from a family owned business, you are not helping a CEO buy a third vacation home. You are helping a little girl get dance lessons, a little boy get his team jersey, a mom or dad put food on the table, a family pay a mortgage, or a student pay for college” all of which is true, but another important reason to spend your money locally is to help the business stay open.  All small town businesses need to be supported and cherished but especially those that are owned by friends and neighbors.

Finally, the coupon book is a fundraiser for the Sullivan Chamber & Economic Development (SCED).  The SCED works on a variety of initiatives for Sullivan, Moultrie County and the region such as tourism promotion, festivals, community, economic and workforce development.  Always looking for new ways to raise funds, the SCED felt the Moultrie County Local Purveyor Guide & Coupon Book was a great way to promote our entrepreneurs and help the organization.  So please pick up a copy or two (or five).  Give them as stocking stuffers this Christmas.  Redeem the coupons to save money. Use the guide to tour the many local producers we have.  Your support of the businesses and the SCED is much appreciated.
