THE 2ND ANNUAL "CHAMBER BUSINESS AFTER HOURS" ON OUR BACK LAWN

Last year was a huge success with over 30 members and 300 people in attendance. The 2nd Annual Chamber Business After Hours is scheduled for Thursday - April 19, 2012  from 5pm to 7pm. There is no charge but you must be a Chamber member to participate. . If the weather is threatening or if it rains we have scheduled a make-up day for May 1, 2012.  While space is limited we will try and accommodate all our members space will be given on a first come-first serve basis so get your reservation in today!!!  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us here at the Chamber {229} 776-7718.

{Sylvester} - Chief Jody Yarbrough would like to remind everyone that Sunday, March 11th, is time to "Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery." As you spring forward, take a few minutes to change the battery in your smoke detector and test it to ensure that it's working properly. If you need a smoke detector or new batteries installed or assistance in checking your battery/detector please call the Sylvester Fire Department at 776-8510.

Parent/Teacher Conference Day will be Thursday, March 15, 2012.

Students will be released from school two hours earlier than usual.

All parents are invited to attend. Times for conferences are as follows:

Primary 4 p.m.- 6 p.m.

Elementary 4 p.m.- 6 p.m.

Middle School: 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

High School: 3 p.m.- 5 p.m.

Farmers, Growers, Producers and Artisans, begin planning now for the 2012 Farmers Market!

May is only two months away. Depending on your product, you may have state, federal and county regulations to meet prior to the market days. Please review the criteria and submit your application now.
 

Deadline for Participation

All potential market vendors (produce, crafts, and food) must submit a complete application to the Sylvester Downtown Enhancement Office before the first market week in which the vendor intends to participate. Please give the review committee several weeks for the approval process. You may email to Brittany Evans at bevans@cityofsylvester.com.

TEEN CERT - COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM

Worth County Fire Rescue announced a plan to prepare local youth for an emergency or disaster on Friday.  Beginning next school year, Worth County High School juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to take an 18 hour Community Emergency Response Team {CERT} class.
