Looking for Georgia’s Small Business Rock Stars:
The August 19th GEDA luncheon will showcase small business – that is, the Rock Stars of Small Business. The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) have teamed together to recognize the outstanding, out-of-the-box, unique and impacting small businesses in the state of Georgia. Recognizing any type of small business that employs under 50, we want to salute the risks, the innovations, the outreach, the impact, the reasons why…all of these qualities abound in Georgia and we want to make this a special day for our small businesses. Nominate a company, forward to your connections or send this to any company who you believe stands above the rest (companies may also nominate themselves). The DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION is JUNE 1, 2013 and the winners will be notified by July 1, 2013. We look forward to saluting Georgia’s small businesses with you! The August 2013 Luncheon Committee: Mike Pennington, President, GEDA Eric van Otteran, Entrepreneur SIG chair, GEDA Mary Ellen McClanahan, Director, Entrepreneur & Small Business, GDEcD Ryan Waldrep, Project Manager Region 9, GDEcD Adela Kelley, Project Manager Region 7, GDEcD The Worth County Schools Partners in Education WCSPIE is a program of the Worth County School System and the Sylvester - Worth County Chamber of Commerce. "As we gear up for camp to start on June 3rd we find ourselves in need of a few things… Old wooden chairs or small side tables that need to be refinished and you are ready to discard. Or if you have a knack for this kind of craft and would like to come out and work with the kids on this project we would love to have you. We are also in need of cane fishing poles. If you have some extra we could borrow for the 6 weeks of camp. Again, if you enjoy teaching children how to fish let me know and I will give you a schedule of what ages will be fishing and when. We will catch and release at the pond next to the Woolard Center. Thank you all so much for your support of Camp Sylvester. Please come out and visit us during camp, there is always something going on that you will enjoy seeing. This year camp will be from June 3rd – July 12 (closed July 4th & 5th) from 8 -5. Thanks so much." Ginny Pike Worth County Family Connection PO Box 421 Sylvester, GA 31791 229-886-3067 gpike@wcfcp.com
