President Biden Announces PPP Revisions to Help Minority, Veteran, and Female Owned Small BusinessesThe new revisions are set to extend the PPP loan program to small businesses who are run by non-citizens or have non-citizen employees. The reform also extends the PPP program to business owners and managers who have committed non-fraud felonies, as well as PPP recipients who have defaulted or are delinquent on previous loan payments.Tucson’s Congressional Representative Raúl Grijalva, of District 3 remarked how this revision is a huge win for Hispanic or Mexican owned businesses, and Hispanic or Mexican consumers in his own community, saying, “Small border businesses are often minority-owned and rely heavily on the foot traffic and money of Mexican shoppers that are currently nonexistent under the continued border closures for nonessential business. We must continue ensuring that relief funds for these businesses are accessible, and I will continue working with Congressional leadership and the White House on ensuring their needs are met not only in existing relief efforts, but future ones as well.” | |
