2010 Philanthropy Awards (09/17/10)
The inaugural 2010 Bank of the West Philanthropy Awards are designed to showcase excellence in commitment to community among Bank of the West customers, team members and neighborhood leaders throughout California.
"Increasingly, nonprofits are playing a greater role in strengthening the fabric of California’s communities and improving the quality of life for countless individuals," said Richard Byrd, Senior Executive Vice President, Wealth Management Group and member of the internal review committee. "Bank of the West wants to recognize and help support the innovative and important work being accomplished by individuals and nonprofit entities in the communities it serves."
Three awards will be given this year: the Innovation in Philanthropy Award, Community Impact Award and Team Member Commitment Award. Bank of the West is now accepting nominations from the public for the Innovation in Philanthropy Award. Nominations are due by September 3, 2010 and will be announced on November 9, 2010.
Nominations for the Community Impact Award and Team Member Commitment Award will be submitted by Bank of the West team members and will also be announced on November 9, 2010.
Bank of the West will award one laureate in each category a $15,000 cash grant. In addition, two other finalists in each award category will receive a $5,000 cash grant. Bank of the West will also provide all laureates and finalists with a short video vignette to promote the continued success of their mission.
