Valley Yellow Pages Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary in 2010.

Twenty-five+ years ago, AGI Publishing, Inc. was founded to provide direct competition in a marketplace once monopolized by utility phone companies. In 1988, dba Valley Yellow Pages, AGI Inc., published its first Yellow Pages directory serving the cities of Fresno and Clovis, California. Since the first directory, Valley Yellow Pages has expanded its reach to include 46 directories throughout Northern and Central California. Today, 7.7 million directories are published annually, reaching over 14.8 million people in California.

Many things have changed over the past 25 years and as the number of our print directories increased, so did our product offerings. To meet the needs of a digital marketplace, Valley Yellow Pages developed MyYP.com, our online Yellow Pages directory. Offering internet and mobile directories, MyYP.com extends the advantages of Yellow Pages in convenient and portable formats. Businesses and service offerings can be found quickly and easily, along with driving directions and click-to-call features.

As the marketplace continues to evolve, Valley Yellow Pages is committed to delivering a quality print and online product to benefit both consumers and advertisers in our communities. Company History
With over 100 years of combined Yellow Pages experience, three former Pacific Bell executives founded AGI Publishing, Inc. in 1985. In 1987, they began operations as Valley Yellow Pages and located corporate offices in the city of Fresno. The first directory, 'Fresno & Clovis,' was published in 1988. More than 650 people are employed by Valley Yellow Pages throughout Central and Northern California.

Founded on the principle of bringing direct competition to the marketplace, Valley Yellow Pages has battled the monopoly of the utility company in order to provide consumers with a better product and advertisers with substantial savings. Valley Yellow Pages was developed as an alternative to the phone company's book, providing advertisers with a choice in Yellow Pages advertising.

Production
Valley Yellow Pages' artwork is produced by ASEC International, a premier provider of graphic design and advertising development solutions. The most current White Pages listings are obtained from the utility companies immediately prior to publication.

Valley Yellow Pages directories are printed by RR Donnelley, the world's premier full-service provider of print services and the largest printer of directories.

Delivery and Distribution
Directory distribution consists of two phases: Initial and newcomer delivery. Initial distribution occurs when Valley Yellow Pages directories are delivered door-to-door, free of charge, to businesses and households throughout a specific market area. Product Development Corporation, one of the nation's leading directory distribution companies, is Valley Yellow Pages' door-to-door and secondary delivery contractor. Newcomer delivery continues throughout the year as directories are mailed out to newcomer business and resident listings. Valley Yellow Pages directories can also be obtained from local Chambers of Commerce that stock the Valley Yellow Pages directories as a free service. Associations and Awards
Valley Yellow Pages is a member of the Association of Directory Publishers and the Association of Directory Marketing. Valley Yellow Pages has and continues to receive awards for its directories' designs and features, among them many Gold Book Awards and the directory publishing industry's APPY Award for product innovation.
