Business representatives needed to conduct mock interviews
 with local high school students

The Chamber’s Education Committee has created a new program for high school students to help them develop better skills for college and career readiness. The "Hire Me" workshop will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 6:30 PM-8:30 PM at Las Lomas High School. The aim is to assist them in preparing for interviews, resume development, etiquette and more. Students will participate in a mock interview, allowing them a chance to get an idea about the experience. They will also participate in sessions that help them in developing strong resumes and discuss phone etiquette, what to wear to an interview, how to appropriately use social media, etc. 

We are looking to partner with local business representatives by way of doing mock interviews with high school students. With your experience in your respective careers, we believe this is a prime opportunity for students to learn what they can do to stand out in this competitive process. The sessions will operate on a rotation, so you will conduct mock interviews for three different sessions. As we continue to organize the event, more details will become available.

Whats New at Shadelands Business Park

The Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau and the City of Walnut Creek have been working hard over the past several years to help rejuvenate the Shadelands Business Park (SBP) for tenants, owners and visitors. The County Connection Shuttle Service Route 7 is now in operation from Pleasant Hill BART, and is just a short 16 minute ride to SBP.  Click here to see the route map and schedule.  The Chamber Art & Wine Committee is about to begin organizing the 34th Annual Walnut Creek Art & Wine Festival and are looking for additional volunteers to join their fun group! The Committee offers many opportunities to apply special talents while having a great time. Voted “East Bay’s Best Outdoor Event” by Contra Costa Newspapers, the Walnut Creek Art & Wine Festival owes its success to members like you. The 34th Annual Art & Wine Festival will take place May 30 and May 31 at Heather Farm Park.The committee will meet the second Tuesday of each month from 3:30-5:00p.m. at the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau.
