The new California Sick Leave Law
that took effect on July 1, 2015
requires all employers
to adopt a paid sick leave policy. This law applies to all private and public sector employers regardless of size and covers all employees, including part-time workers. It is crucial for all employers to understand what the new mandate involves, and to have a working knowledge of how to become, and remain in compliance with state regulations.
“Because this legislation has the potential to impact many of our member businesses, the Chamber reached out to one of the Bay Area’s leading law firms, De La Housaye & Associates
, to provide an informative and timely workshop to deal with this issue,” said Karla Garcia, Chair of the Board of the Walnut Creek Chamber.
Hosted by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau
Founding Attorney Angela De La Housaye
& Senior Litigation Attorney Brendan Dooley
Earlier this year the property owners in the Shadelands Business Park contracted with CCCTA to provide free round trip bus service between Pleasant Hill BART and the Shadelands. The free service is Route 7 – AKA – the “Shadelands Shuttle” and it now has a new easy to identify look. In the six months since the free fare program began ridership has nearly doubled. “We are very excited to offer this new service to Shadelands employees, clients and residents in the area,” said Scott Butler, VP of Research and Development for Del Monte Foods, a long-time Shadelands business.
Route 7 runs between the Pleasant Hill BART station and the Shadelands Business Park by way of Treat Blvd. and Oak Grove Rd. The service runs every 15 minutes Monday – Friday between approximately 6:30 – 10:00 AM, and 3:00 – 7:30 PM. To view the schedule and route map, click here.

Here are the tips: It’s a shame that writing great copy doesn’t necessarily translate to page views. In fact, writing great copy in and of itself will rarely take you far. If people aren’t "buying" the headline, they won’t click: You may have written War and Peace, but your copy will simply languish in digital purgatory, unless you give it a headline with a whole lot of bite.
