Program kick-off is scheduled for late September
Leadership Contra Costasm, the Bay Area's premier countywide leadership program is accepting applications for enrollment in the 2015-2016 session. The alumni roster of more than 600 includes; Walnut Creek City Council members, Former Walnut Creek Mayor Cindy Silva, former Assemblywoman Lynne Leach, former Walnut Creek Mayor Kathy Hicks, former Concord Mayor Lou Rosas, Martinez Mayor Rob Schroder, and Ret. Superior Court Judge Harlan Grossman just to name a few.
Booth space is available for the 1st Annual Oktoberfest on October 17. Arts & crafts/artisan exhibitors can participate for as low as $175! The Oktoberfest will consider Harvest-themed arts & crafts made by the Exhibitor, pre-packaged gourmet food, culinary tools & cooking accessories, and limited production Lifestyle products (representing a technology-based extension of the DIY culture). Tour of Beauty...In the Making
Members of the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau Civic Affairs committee were provided a unique opportunity to tour the redevelopment currently underway at Broadway Plaza. Changes to the 63-year-old shopping center will include new retail stores, expanded parking, enhanced pedestrian spaces, and better traffic access. The big reveal begins November of this year. Slated for completion in time for the holiday season will be Macy's expansion and in-store renovation, new parking, street upgrades, and the first phase of retail stores along Broadway Plaza Street. The second phase of retail along Broadway Lane, the South Broadway parking garage, and a new event plaza will open in Spring 2016.
