Leadership Contra Costa Graduates Twenty-five

Leadership Contra CostaSM ended its twenty-ninth year on a high note on Thursday May 12 with the Leadership Contra Costa Class of 2016–2017 graduation ceremony at Scott's Seafood, Walnut Creek. The graduation ceremony was lead by Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau Chair Linda Rimac Colberg. Attendees heard from guest speaker, Jeffrey Weil, who has been selling and leasing commercial real estate for the past 40 years, and heard parting thoughts and notable moments from graduating class participants, Michael Doten, Erika Calabro, and Michael Chandler. Class graduate, Mary Murphy, took a moment, to thank program leader Marcie Hochhauser on behalf of the whole class.

Something to Celebrate!

The Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau celebrated its 90th anniversary at the May 4 Installation Luncheon and UXL Awards ceremony, and there was much to celebrate. Festival Opera gave a wonderful performance, we got to see Mayor Pro Tem Rich Carlston in a birthday hat and incoming Chair, Linda Rimac Colberg,installed herself, as she stepped into the role several months ago. We took the opportunity to recognize some of our longstanding members, John Muir Health (1965)Contra Costa Association of REALTORS (1957), Kaiser Permanente  (1956)Pacific Gas and Electric Company (1954)Broadway Plaza (1952), and Schroder Insurance Services (1932)! Kicks-Off Summer With Fun For The Entire Family

Calling all SummerAti! Kickoff summer at the 35th annual Walnut Creek Art & Wine Festival set to take place on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5. Heather Farm Park will be filled with more than 250 arts and crafts booths, live music, craft brews, wine tasting, dozens of food options, a Kids Zone and more. This year, everything gets kicked up a notch with several new features including Keith Sayers’ high flying freestyle motocross performances all weekend. Guests will also enjoy Premium Collection, a new fine art area coupled with fine wines and a collection of single malt scotches for tasting.  Festival admission is free; souvenir wine and beer glasses and drink tickets can be purchased.
